Considering Selling Your Home And What To Do With That Multi Purpose Room
We all have rooms in our homes that we use for multi-purposes. For example, I have a bedroom that I have converted into a playroom. It really is a bedroom, but it's location in the home and the size allows it to used as a playroom. As a matter a fact, the previous owner of our home also used it as a playroom. Now that the kids have grown up, I will likely be turning that room back into a bedroom.
If you are getting ready to sell your home, consider the buyer. Is the multi-purpose room confusing? The seller may think that it shows versatility, but what will the buyer think? A seller should focus on one feature of each room, even if that's not how they are currently use it. Think about the neighborhood and the potential buyers. Is the area popular with families? Would it be better to return that playroom into a bedroom. If this is the case, put away the game consoles and bean bag chairs and bring in the bedroom suite.
If your are undecided on what to do with the room, consult with a realtor. A realtor can advise you on staging tips and the area demographics. A realtor can also advise you on recent sales in the neighborhood. Are the floor plans with 4 bedrooms selling quicker than 3 bedroom homes. This can also help you decide on what to do with the multi-purpose room.
Good luck and happy selling.
